Lynn is part of the Charities team and specialises in advising churches and Christian organisations on their governance and constitutional matters, particularly focusing on helping churches become CIOs.
Lynn has over 12 years’ experience working in the charity sector – in regulation, external consultancy and leading an in-house team. Lynn spent seven years at the Charity Commission, providing 1:1 guidance and legal consents predominantly to large charities as well as a year leading high-risk investigations. Since leaving in 2012, Lynn has worked as a Freelance Charity and Governance Consultant. Projects have included leading a major corporate programme for the Royal British Legion to transform how it manages more than 700 charitable trusts, both as a consultant then head of a new department. Lynn is also a lay member of the Charity Law Association and was a member of its working party responding to proposed technical changes to charity law. She joined Edward Connor Solicitors in 2018.
Outside of work, Lynn is a deacon of a small Baptist Church in Haringey, North London and is also a trustee of a mission charity.
