As the managing director of Edward Connor Solicitors, Gemma is responsible for strategy and staff management.
Gemma started her legal career with Anthony Collins Solicitors, specialising in commercial property work for charities and churches. With a heart to use her legal skills to serve the gospel, she began working for FIEC Limited, FIEC’s trust holding company, in 2010. She set-up and led the in-house legal team known as ‘FIEC Practical Services’ and was then instrumental in setting up Edward Connor Solicitors, which she now leads.
Gemma’s passion is to see Christian charities and churches adorning the gospel by being well-run and legally compliant. She has lots of experience helping churches untangle complex governance structures, liaising with the Charity Commission and amending trust deeds or altering charitable objects and helping leaders where pastorally sensitive situations merge into legal problems.
Gemma provides strategic support for directors, trustees, and church leaders, combining her legal knowledge and experience of running a Christian charity with her awareness of the typical legal issues churches and Christian organisations face.
Gemma lives and attends church in Bramcote, where her husband is the Assistant Minister.
